The schedule and dates for the IPL 2021 have yet to be finalised. According to reports in the media, the IPL 2021 schedule will be published soon after the completion of the ongoing India-England Test series, which will end on March 8. As far as the start date of the event is concerned, BCCI has been silent and has nothing declared officially.

Although the start date of the IPL 2021 is yet to be announced officially, there are media reports that say the tournament will begin on April 11 and conclude on June 6. The ongoing England tour of India will conclude on March 28 with the final match being played in Pune. The players will join the bubble for the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League after the tour.

The BCCI has shortlisted a total of 292 players for the IPL 2021 auction. Finally, a total of 130 players were called out, with 57 players sold and 73 players remaining unsold on the day of the auction.

Rajasthan Royals paid INR 16.25 crores for Chris Morris, making him the most expensive player in the IPL 2021 auction. Rajasthan Royals broke the bank for the South African all-rounder, making him the most expensive player in IPL history. Punjab Kings (PBKS) paid INR 5.25 crores for Shahrukh Khan, making him the most expensive Indian player.

Venue for the IPL 2021

The venue for the IPL 2021 has not been officially announced by the BCCI. However, board members have been openly claiming that the priority to conduct this year’s league will always be India. strikingly, the 2020 edition of the event had to be pushed into the UAE because of the worsening situation of COVID-19 in the country. There have been reports that the IPL 2021 can take place in the UAE once again.
